This year Ami was honored to be asked to be a Workshop Leader at the AIGA Austin-organized Design Ranch, held at beautiful Camp Waldemar on the Guadalupe River in Hunt, TX. I had a blast as a workshop leader last weekend at Design Ranch, teaching Gonzo Drawing to some amazing folks.

The weather was great for roaming around and sketching the goings on at the ranch, from the swim hole to the horse stable to a spirited game of Kickball. We even got an after-hours impromptu drink-n-draw going! I was so heartened how my workshop attendees from a wide range of creative backgrounds embraced the in-the-place and in-the-moment approach to drawing, enjoying the process of drawing rather than worrying about the results. And the results were amazing! (hopefully they are back in their lives right now filling up those new sketchbooks)

Thanks to AIGA Austin, all the folks at Design Ranch for having me, Dennese Salazar for the amazing assist, and everyone who took my workshop, hope to see y'all back in 2025!

Pulled over by the law en-route. Luckily. the deputy was in a reflective mood about future fishing, so we just got a little warning.

Getting mad official.
